I understand that some people might make the arguments that they don't need a strategy guide, but I disagree with that line of thought most of the time, especially if you want to get everything a game has to offer. Yes, you can search places like YouTube and blogs, but I always prefer a physical book over searching all over the internet. Furthermore, this is a collector's edition, so in my opinion this awesome limited hardcover edition is very well worth owning just for that reason. That being said this strategy guide was helpful to me right off the bat, and is filled will useful pictures, maps, and tips that will help all gamers. On top of all that I felt that the maps were very well labeled, which helped me a ton in finding items and completing my quests. Speaking of quest, each part of the quest are clearly labeled, so there is no guessing work, which is important, because you only have three game days to finish them before the world ends.Chapter 0: IntroductionChapter 1: How To PlayChapter 2: Items and GearChapter 3: Monsters and EnemiesChapter 4: WalkthroughChapter 5: Legendary ChecklistThe bottom line is that strategy guides isn't a must own for everyone, but I highly recommend picking the Majora's Mask guide up. I have an old Prima Perfect Guide from my old 64 version. I can't use it without getting frustrated.Sure, there are a few changes to the game that aren't *too* major, but it's enough for me to just get the new guide.Yeah you can use the internet for some walkthroughs... but I'm pretty oldschool and my internet loves to go down randomly (rural first-world problems)For those of you thinking "I don't need a guide, it's more fun to find everything on your own!"Yes, it's very satisfying to figure out everything for yourself. Plus, the new Bomber's notebook is ridiculously handy for keeping track of events, which is a must. Finding all of the faeries and spiders though... even a couple of heart pieces I never would have found if I didn't have a guide. This game has faeries in some of the most bullcrap places I would have never looked otherwise- and I'm used to the old Zelda tricks for hiding stuff.The maps are perfect, they're updated where they need to be. I have no idea why anyone's said they haven't been updated for the new game.It's a nice guide, totally worth the money for me.
I was already considering getting this to consult while playing the game. But when I discovered they were making a limited edition version of the book I immediately bought it. The book itself is gorgeous! As I am sure you've seen, the front cover is adorned beautifully with gold engraved trimming. The edges of the pages are also in gold trim. You can look at various pictures online to see for yourself. The aesthetics are reason enough to purchase this!Now for the review on the information of the book itself!This book is highly elaborate and goes into fine detail about what to do next. It will allow you to unlock every single thing in the game. 100%. What I love about this guide is the logical and expedient route it takes you through. It wastes absolutely no time and is straight to the point. If you find yourself wanting to explore and deviate a little from the guide to do your own thing that is fine and dandy because if you come across an obstacle or get stuck, the guide has every answer.The book is concise and easy to understand. This was my very 1st run through of the game. I know for a fact that I would not have beaten it all the way though without this book. There are many points in the game where one gets lost and doesn't know what to do next. Or maybe even a boss battle that requires of the player certain knowledge that otherwise probably wouldn't have known.With the Zelda games being very challenging (and at times frustrating), you cannot go wrong buying this. You won't regret it.
I had planned on getting this and Majoras Mask along with the limited 3ds MM edition. That didn't work out so ended up waiting and was worried when I saw the guides had also sold out. Now I finally got a new 3ds - the gold hyrule edition (so very sweet & actually sold at retail price) so finally decided to get MM. This is the one game that I really like to use a guide for since it's easy to miss out on things due to the specific timing of events in the game. So I am very glad this was available again and for less than retail - yay!! Too bad ebayers heheAnyway, I love this guide! I have the big collection that came in the treasure box and this complements very nicely. It's a gorgeous hardcover and the gold edges are beautiful to boot. It's worth getting just for the personal collection alone. As a guide, it's been very useful. The chapters are arranged in what you are able to do right away. I like being able to have this handy to look up what events need to happen in order to get some upgrade. I had the original guide but there are differences so it's good to have the 3ds version. Very happy with this purchase!!
THIS BOOK IS SO COOL. This is one of those few books that I keep on my desk at all times. It has lots of really nice artwork in it and is obviously very useful for playing through the game and getting all the sidequests done and such. But more than that - it just looks cool. It's very well made and has gold leaf edges and letters and such. Its the exact same color scheme and style as my Legend Of The Hero book,Legend of the Hero. Historical Compendium: Creatures, Cultures, and Mythos of the Land so they look very nice next to each other on my desk next to my lava lamp.Get it.
